Winter 2005/6 meeting at Selsdon Park

Event 54 - 25th Feb 2006

	There had been snow a few days before this event which had left it in some jeopardy. Thankfully we did not have our third postponement in six years although we did have a number of temporary greens and even they were icy.
Peter Hopkins won his first Winter Stableford and became the first member to win all six of the Societies majors. The 20-handicapper won with 35 points including a birdie 4 on the 5th with a front nine of 18. He just beat John Cooper runner-up on 34, who had just the one blob, the lowest on the day. John Fish was third on 33 who just edged out Ian Pearce on the countback who had the best front nine of 19. Mike Lunnon made a welcome return and was fifth on 32. The bow-maker event was won by Steve Watson, Peter Chance & Pammi Channa  on the countback.
