As it turned out none of the top four had won this event before. Dave Cooper scored 33 including a firs half of 19. Three blobs would just keep him out of the prizes. Richard Walsh in match two scored an outward 20 points including a birdie two and one blob. He finished with 37 and led with one group to come in. Barry Hough and John Cooper had a close battle in this last match. John Cooper scored three four-pointers in his round including a birdie two. Three blobs would be too costly though as he finished on 35. 

Barry Hough started with two birdies including holing out from the bunker on the 2nd. He had scored 22 after nine. He blobbed the 13th but finished well to score 38. This gave him his first victory of the Stableford Trophy and his fourth major win.

This round makes Barry leader of the 2008 Championship. And what of the 2007 Championship, with a huge lead and nearest rival not playing, John Fish proved to be the most consistent golfer over 4 rounds by a huge 16 points.

In the afternoon foursomes, results will show that there was only won pair in it, though there was only one point in it over the leading four. Lowest handicappers Gary Pitt and Mark Staples scored a winning 34 points including an inward 19 and a birdie on each half.
