Winter 2000 Meeting at Epsom

Barry Hough continued the trend from last year's Winter event with a run away victory at Epsom, on the Downs. His front nine of seventeen was then bettered by his back nine of 25, including two birdies and a blob at the last for a winning 42. This was the 21-handicapper's first strokeplay victory at Woodvale (having previously won the Matchplay). Ian Cooper was the only player who scored on every hole and the Oaks Park 16-handicapper took the runner-up prize on 38. To complete the podium places, Al Nawrocki (of Purley Downs) scored 35 for third beating Bob Torreson on the countback.

The Team competition was one to score on the first six, two to score on the middle six and all to score on the last six. Ian Cooper, Richard Walsh and Ian Pearce won this on 78 points, and a five shot margin.
