Winter 2004/5 meeting at Darenth Valley

Event 50 - 12th March 2005

Would you believe it? Our end of February date was cancelled due to snow so we re-arranged two weeks later. Our original sixteen were one down due to illness. It started out as a cold day but the sun shone through later and it warmed up a bit. 

 

 

Steve Watson defending his winter title led the way and in fine form too. He played the first six in level par and with no blobs scored an unbeatable 39 pts. It was a close run thing for second, Terry Winsall still searching for his first podium position in any event scored 35 pts again without a blob. John Jones also scored 35 and also had an 18/17 split. It went to to the back 6 with Terry securing runner-up spot. Other notable scores were Richard Walsh on 34 with a back nine of 21 and Shailen Patel on 33 scoring an outward 18.

The team this year was a bone-maker, best 2 from 3. As on previous occasions the individual was also a team winner, Steve Watson playing with Richard Walsh and John Fish with a winning score on 83, by just 2 points.
