1998 Matchplay Knockout

 
Golfer Steve Watson won his third matchplay title in five years in a re-run of the 1995 final. It was a close game and there was never more than a couple in it. Victory came on the 17th when Peter Hooper could only halve the hole. Steve played three of his four games on his home course of Purley Downs.
