1997 Matchplay Knockout

Golfer Peter Hooper went one better than his runner-up spot in 1995 by winning the 1997 matchplay. He beat previous winners Gary Pitt and Mark Staples in his earlier matches. Peter Miles had won through from the top half of the draw. Peter Hooper won by the comfortable margin of 4 & 2.
