Robin Dyson won his fifth Stableford Trophy at Betchworth Park in Dorking.
The fourteen handicapper scored 34 the same as Gary Pitt and Colin Fish
but won it with 20 points on the back nine. It was Gary's sixth runner-up
spot. Ian Cooper beat Steve Watson on the countback
for 4th and 5th. There were five Woodvale ex-footballers in the top seven,
their best showing for some time.

Steve Watson's 32 was the best amongst last years winners to win the
Winners Salver.
Ian Cooper won his fifth Nearest-the-Pin and Gary Pitt his eighth Longest-Drive. In the afternoon Team Stableford, with the added danger of the yellow peril ball, the trio of Paul Jeanes, Peter Chance and Shailen Patel stormed to victory. They eased the yellow ball round in 33ts with the other better ball of 45 for a nine point margin. Note that the team in last lost their yellow ball on the first hole! |
